Sri Lanka is a country with a huge variety of religions and cultures. Buddhism is the dominant religion, followed by Hinduism, Islam and Catholicism. All of these religions coexist naturally with ease and create a uniquely warm, friendly and peaceful environment for daily life.

There are political issues that spill over into violence between the Sri Lanka government and the LTTE but these have, over the two decades of the troubles, been focused in the North and North East and have had little effect on the rest of the island.

It is important to reassure our potential visitors that this is a secular issue and tourists visiting Sri Lanka are not targeted in any way.
